Sweet Corn Usli

Hope everyone's having a great Navaratri. This year Navaratri feels so different without inviting people over but we are trying to make the best out of it. 

Here is a simple Usli made with Sweet Corn. 


Serves 3-4 

You Will Need:
  • 1.5 cups frozen Sweet corn 
  • 1/4 cup grated Coconut 
  • Salt as per taste 
To Temper:
  • 1 tablespoon Cooking Oil 
  • 1/ teaspoon Mustard Seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Urad Dal
  • 1 teaspoon Chana Dal
  • A pinch of Hing 
  • 3-4 Curries Leaves
  • 2 Green Chilies - slit 
How To:

In a microwave safe bowl, cook sweet corn kernels with a bit of salt in enough water for 3 minutes. Drain all the water & set the corn kernels aside.

In a pan, heat oil, splutter mustards seeds. Add Hing, Urad & chana dal & fry until golden 

Add green chilies & curry leaves & fry for 20 seconds. Add the corn kernels, & salt as per taste & sauté for 30 seconds. Add grated coconut & mix well. Turn off the heat
