An Easy 5 Minute 'Instant Grapes Pickle'

If eating Pickles with Curd Rice is your thing then you are going to love this easy Instant Green Grapes Pickle. It takes only 5-6 minutes to make this. The only time I spent was in slicing the grapes into halves 

Also, a great dish to add to the table when you have guests over. 


You are going to need some Green Grapes, Basic Seasoning Spices & Pickle Masala. I always use Bedekar Pickle Masala, but you can use any other brand. 

If you don't have pickle masala, substitute it with Red Chili Powder. 

What Kind of Grapes to Use?

Green Grapes work best for this recipe. 

Also, Sour Grapes don't really taste good in this recipe, as this pickle is not as spicy as traditional pickles. The grapes should be fairly sweet with just a hint of sourness. 


You Will Need:

  • 250 grams Green Grapes 
  • 1 tablespoon Cooking Oil 
  • 1 teaspoon Pickle Masala (I used Bedekar Pickle Masala)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • 1 big pinch of Asafoetida/Hing
  • Salt as per taste 
How To:

Wash & pat dry the grapes. Slice them into halves & put them in a bowl

In a small pan, heat oil. Splutter mustard seeds, Add Turmeric Powder & Hing. Turn off the heat 

After a minute, while the oil is still warm, Add the Pickle Masala & stir. 

(We add the Pickle Masala later, when the oil is not too hot so that it does not burn, Powdered Spices burn easily in hot oil, so make sure the oil is slightly warm so that the Pickle Masala Powder gets cooked slightly)

Pour this into the grapes bowl, add salt & mix well

Tastes best when paired with Curd Rice
